Behind the Scenes of the IRB

Join the Ethics Community of Practice and Michael Marx, Cecilia Engquist and Lola Chetti for a fascinating behind the scenes overview of the IRB process. Attendees will be learning about the complaint process, how the IRB members review a complaint and what are the potential learning opportunities for coaches. In addition, we will be taught on how Ethics competencies are used as a basis for the panel to make their decisions. The panel will allow the opportunity for participants to have an interactive part to play in the presentation.

Cecilia Engquist is Mauritian-French, educated in Mauritius and then in UK and France; I have worked in Europe, Mauritius and across Asia. The humanistic approaches I follow focuses on the client whilst the systemic focuses on the internal and external forces that the coachees have to understand in order to be effective in their positions.

Dr. Michael Marx is an ICF Professional Certified Coach specializing in business coaching and corporate consultation. Dr. Marx has served as the leader of the ICF ‘Global Community of Practice on Ethics.’ He also serves on the ICF Independent Review Board and leads the team for the Ethical Interpretive Statements. Additionally, he is a past-president of Christian Coaches Network International and the author of Ethics and Risk Management for Christian Coaches (2016). He serves as the Administrative Director of Success Unlimited Network. He has also founded a non-profit call Coaching Suicide Awareness.

Genaro is the founder of GTC in the United States and Virtus in Mexico. Both companies collaborate with leaders in organizations in the United States and Latin America. He is a bicultural business consultant with a proven track record of success. Exploring Capabilities of a Coaching Supervisor

Join the Coaching Supervision Community of Practice and Tom Battye for a fascinating insight into the EMCC Global perspective on supervision. Tom is the EMCC Global representative for supervision. He led the research and development of the Supervision Competence Framework, and more recently created the Supervision Guidelines. He will share his personal perspective on what differentiates supervision, show how the EMCC model addresses both reflective and reflexive practice and discuss how these two documents can be used by both supervisors and coaches to support their professionalism.

Tom Battye - supervising coaches for over 15 years and has been supporting EMCC to define and develop supervision standards for 10 years.

Tom Battye has been supervising coaches for over 15 years and has been supporting EMCC to define and develop supervision standards for 10 years. He is a recent winner of the EMCC Global Supervision Award and runs his own, EMCC accredited supervision qualification and accreditation course with a new cohort starting in April 2023. Outside work, Tom is also a professional expedition leader, taking people on adventurous mountaineering trips around the world. Closer to home, he is a committed blues dancer.
