Resources and Tools for Ongoing Coach Development

As a coach, continuous learning and development are essential for staying current and delivering the highest level of service to clients. Here are some valuable resources and tools for ongoing coach development:

  1. Professional Associations: Joining professional associations, such as the International Coaching Federation (ICF), provides access to a wealth of resources, networking opportunities, and continuing education programs as well as the opportunity to earn a credential. Associations offer webinars, conferences, and publications that keep coaches up to date with the latest trends and best practices in coaching.
  2. Books and Publications: There is a vast array of books and publications available on coaching, covering a wide range of topics and approaches. Some great books include our own Coaching Perspectives series, and “Law & Ethics in Coaching” by Patrick Williams and Sharon K. Anderson. Books provide valuable insights and practical tools for coaches at all levels.
  3. Supervision and Mentoring: Engaging in regular coaching supervision or mentoring sessions with experienced coaches can provide valuable guidance and support. Supervision equips coaches to reflect on their practice, receive feedback, and gain new perspectives. It is an opportunity for ongoing learning and growth.

A note: ICF requires 40 hours of continuing education every three years to renew a credential.  The Center for Coaching Certification requires those same hours to renew coach login access to a multitude of resources.
