Fall for Coaches 2 of 3

When a coach continues to learn, do their clients ‘fall’ for them? Go deeper – does the training prepare the coach to best serve the client? Clients want a coach that they are comfortable with and trust. Clients want a coach that challenges them move toward their goals effectively. Clients want a coach to partner with in achieving success.

Training + Skill + Experience = Excellence. Training is a first step in preparing a coach to best serve the client. Many coaches have a natural ability to develop rapport and trust with many people. Training provides the opportunity to expand this skill and develop rapport and trust with a wider range of people.

Training provides the opportunity to develop and practice skills. The knowledge base and practice provide the coach with the confidence in their work to challenge the client in their thinking and in their actions.

The combination, Training + Skill + Experience, prepares the coach to be an excellent partner with the client for achieving their success.

Coaching is a developing profession and the training, skill, and experience levels range widely. Definitions for excellence in coaching also range widely. Ultimately, for each client excellence in their coach is different.
