Number 28 in the ICF Code of Ethics<\/a> calls on coaches to do good.\u00a0 What does that mean?\u00a0 How can we do that?\u00a0 It starts with the statement in the code on being aware of our and our clients\u2019 impact on society.\u00a0 For how we do that, consider these five points pulled from our Diversity and Equity in Coaching CCE program: \"An<\/p>\n

      3. Plan how to achieve it<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      4. Self-reflective Practice\n

        1. Schedule time for it<\/li>\n
        2. Options on How include: journaling, taking self-assessments, reflecting on coaching sessions, and more<\/li>\n
        3. Develop Awareness through research, conversations, reflection on perceptions, and by engaging with a wider rage of people<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
        4. Communicate Openness\n
            \n
          1. Words invite people in or can exclude \u2013 review your website and social media to identify what you want to change<\/li>\n
          2. Images \u2013 review the pictures you use for diversity<\/li>\n
          3. Engagement \u2013 participate in the tough conversations with transparency and vulnerability<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
          4. Expand Access\n
              \n
            1. Non-profits \u2013 look for ways to offer coaching services to the staff and the constituency of nonprofit organizations<\/li>\n
            2. Sliding-scale \u2013 consider offering a sliding-scale fee for coaching services to make it accessible for more people<\/li>\n
            3. Collaboration \u2013 ICF Foundation and ICF chapters often partner to provide coaching for those who cannot access it otherwise; either through those efforts or with colleagues, work together to provide coaching to the underserved<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Diversity and Equity<\/a> are the right thing and each of us has our own areas of influence and opportunity to do good through our coaching services.<\/p>\n
