The recording(s) are assessed using what are called the <a href=\"https:\/\/coachingfederation.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PCC Markers<\/a>. \u00a0The PCC Markers are the specific behaviors that demonstrate the application of coaching competencies. \u00a0As a coach submitting a recording, it is important to think about whether you are truly demonstrating your ethics and competencies, and that you are coaching in keeping with what is appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>PCC Marker 4.3 says \u201ccoach acknowledges and supports the client&#8217;s expression of feelings, perceptions, concerns, beliefs, or suggestions.\u201d\u00a0 This means inviting the client based on who they are to fully express themselves, and then acknowledging what they express in a way that is respectful and supportive of them. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9361 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ICFs-PCC-Markers-Speak-to-Diversity-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"ICF\u2019s PCC Markers Speak to Diversity\" width=\"363\" height=\"242\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ICFs-PCC-Markers-Speak-to-Diversity-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ICFs-PCC-Markers-Speak-to-Diversity-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ICFs-PCC-Markers-Speak-to-Diversity-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ICFs-PCC-Markers-Speak-to-Diversity-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ICFs-PCC-Markers-Speak-to-Diversity-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ICFs-PCC-Markers-Speak-to-Diversity-2048x1367.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ICFs-PCC-Markers-Speak-to-Diversity-90x60.jpg 90w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ICFs-PCC-Markers-Speak-to-Diversity-480x320.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ICFs-PCC-Markers-Speak-to-Diversity-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ICFs-PCC-Markers-Speak-to-Diversity-520x345.jpg 520w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 363px) 100vw, 363px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>PCC Marker 5.1 says that the \u201ccoach acts in response to the whole person of the client (the who).\u201d \u00a0The coach works with the whole person and that means their identity, their context, and their culture, and is responsive to the whole of the client.<\/p>\n<p>PCC Marker 5.4 says the \u201ccoach demonstrates curiosity to learn more about the client.\u201d\u00a0 This speaks to truly understanding them, their thinking, and their influencers as well as who they are and how their context plays into the conversation.<\/p>\n<p>PCC Marker 6.1 says \u201ccoach\u2019s questions and observations are customized by using what the coach has learned about who the client is or the client&#8217;s situation.\u201d \u00a0This means what a coach learns about the client informs their questions which requires adapting to the client as an individual.<\/p>\n<p>PCC Marker 6.5 states that \u201ccoach inquiries about or explores how the client currently perceives themselves or their world.\u201d\u00a0 It means being curious and exploring the client\u2019s perceptions while considering context.<\/p>\n<p>In PCC Marker 7.1, the \u201ccoach asks questions about the client, such as their current way of thinking, feeling, values, needs, wants, beliefs, or behavior.\u201d\u00a0 This opens the opportunity for understanding the client and their context.<\/p>\n<p>PCC Marker 8.6, says the \u201ccoach partners with the client to consider how to move forward, including resources, support, or potential barriers.\u201d\u00a0 The client\u2019s environment influences which resources are available and the potential barriers.<\/p>\n<p>This blog series highlights points from the Code of Ethics, the Core Competencies, and the PCC Markers with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training\/cce-programs\/diversity-and-equity.html\">Diversity<\/a>, Inclusion, and Equity lens.\u00a0 Sometimes the connection is clearly stated and at other times it is clear that the application of the point discussed serves diversity.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s keep this conversation going.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When you pursue a credential with the ICF, you submit one recording for the ACC or two for the PCC or MCC of yourself coaching. &hellip;
