Competency 7. Evokes Awareness is defined as \u201cfacilitates client insight and learning by using tools and techniques such as powerful questioning, silence, metaphor, or analogy.\u201d\u00a0 Which tools work is different for each client, which means understanding their context.\u00a0 For example, competency 7.1 states that the coach<\/a> considers client experience when deciding what might be most useful. \u00a0\u00a0As coaches, we are paying attention to what is going to serve the client and be useful to them based on who they are as an individual. \"Coaching<\/p>\n

Competency 7.3 says, \u201casks questions about the client, such as their way of thinking, values, needs, wants, and beliefs.\u201d\u00a0 Learning who the client is helps the coach to formulate questions. \u00a0When a coach asks about their way of thinking, and with 7.4 explores beyond current thinking, it involves awareness of their values, needs, wants, and beliefs. \u00a0This in turn evokes awareness.<\/p>\n

Competency<\/a> 7.8 states \u201chelps the client identify factors that influence current and future patterns of behavior, thinking or emotion.\u201d\u00a0 We all have different factors, such as our identity or our culture, that influence our thinking, behaviors, and emotions.\u00a0 Supporting the client with questions to help them identify how they are influenced helps them move forward.\u00a0 Ask what they want to do with the awareness, emotions, and influencers.<\/p>\n

Competency 8. Facilitates Client Growth happens through understanding the client and the awareness developed through exploring their influencers because then they apply the insights within their strategies and actions.\u00a0 How the client\u2019s progress and success is celebrated is based on their preferences.<\/p>\n
