We are in the midst of a change that was not deliberate or desired.\u00a0 One response is to tolerate and endure this new reality in the hope that we can return to life as we knew it before the global outbreak.\u00a0 In this situation, there\u2019s another option. The process to transition from the current to the desired state is the <strong>change state<\/strong>.\u00a0 In many change efforts, the change is initiated because there are clear and defined benefits in achieving the desired state. A purpose or goal is identified, and then we determine the optimal path to go from our current to the desired state.\u00a0 However, that sequence is not always possible \u2013 there are scenarios where the change was not anticipated or planned such as COVID.<\/p>\n<p>In the situation we are experiencing with the COVID-19 outbreak, it is understandable that the preferred change sequence may be:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8724 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Current-State.png\" alt=\"Current State\" width=\"451\" height=\"50\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Current-State.png 902w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Current-State-300x33.png 300w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Current-State-768x85.png 768w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Current-State-541x60.png 541w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Current-State-900x100.png 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 451px) 100vw, 451px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We hope to return to a state that we understand \u2013 where our current health and economic struggles did not exist.
