{"id":8602,"date":"2020-02-06T11:03:08","date_gmt":"2020-02-06T11:03:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/?p=8602"},"modified":"2022-09-20T18:13:39","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T18:13:39","slug":"creating-change-with-a-positivity-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/creating-change-with-a-positivity-journal\/","title":{"rendered":"Creating Change with a Positivity Journal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Beth Donovan &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bethdonovan.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/bethdonovan.com<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/bethdonovan.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-8598 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Beth-Donovan_Jan-2020.png\" alt=\"Beth Donovan\" width=\"129\" height=\"173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Beth-Donovan_Jan-2020.png 191w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Beth-Donovan_Jan-2020-45x60.png 45w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 129px) 100vw, 129px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I keep a record of positive things that I see, do, hear, think, and discover.\u00a0 I call this my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training\/cce-programs\/science_positivity.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Positivity<\/a> Journal.\u00a0 I make it a daily goal to write 3 positive things about myself and my day in it each evening.<\/p>\n<p>A Positivity Journal gives you a spectacular record of your success and insight to what you are doing to succeed at creating change.<\/p>\n<p>Keeping things very positive is crucial.\u00a0 Use positive, proactive words (for example those on the positive word list from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coach training<\/a>).\u00a0 Poisonous words like don\u2019t, didn\u2019t, try, maybe, etc. are self- defeating.\u00a0 You are looking for a record of positive successes.<\/p>\n<p>The great thing about a Positivity Journal is that you can look back at how you were succeeding to move past bumps in the road.\u00a0 You have a road map to your own success.<\/p>\n<p>It also puts your brain on POSITIVE!\u00a0 Positive thoughts and language help create change in and of themselves because they can rewrite the neuro pathways in the brain.\u00a0 Once this starts taking place, change starts becoming easier.\u00a0 The more positive thoughts you can think, the more your brain neuroscience will change.\u00a0 This is helpful in overcoming a stubborn habit.<\/p>\n<p>Building a new habit is like any building.\u00a0 Building requires the addition of materials.\u00a0 Adding positive things and thoughts to life is building.<\/p>\n<p>Removing is a negative.\u00a0 Consider when people destroy something.\u00a0 They remove materials and leave a hole where the materials used to be.\u00a0 Habits are easy to pick back up where there is a hole.<\/p>\n<p>By building and creating positive change, the hole gets filled.\u00a0 It is much easier to stick to new changes and succeed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Beth Donovan &#8211;\u00a0https:\/\/bethdonovan.com I keep a record of positive things that I see, do, hear, think, and discover.\u00a0 I call this my Positivity Journal.\u00a0 &hellip;
