{"id":8313,"date":"2019-04-29T09:03:20","date_gmt":"2019-04-29T09:03:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/?p=8313"},"modified":"2022-12-01T17:24:49","modified_gmt":"2022-12-01T17:24:49","slug":"coaching-to-develop-workplace-strategies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/coaching-to-develop-workplace-strategies\/","title":{"rendered":"Coaching to Develop Workplace Strategies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This blog series continues with the client in the story preparing for her new job.\u00a0 In preparation for this, I reflected on the balance between being a subject matter expert and a process expert as discussed in the very first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/en\/training.html\">coach training<\/a> class.\u00a0 This meant I was ready to use subject matter expertise to inform questions while truly empowering the client to explore and decide.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8314 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/dreamstimeextralarge_71911516.jpg\" alt=\"Coaching to Develop Workplace Strategies \" width=\"187\" height=\"162\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In talking through how to work on this together, Katrina decided that identifying the stages for starting and engaging was the first step.\u00a0 Next was to think through what each stage meant to her and what she wanted to be aware of as she was in that stage.\u00a0 Finally, Katrina wanted to define specific actions for each stage.\u00a0 The stages and points of awareness she developed during the coaching included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preparation \u2013 in preparing for work, Katrina wanted to identify who she was going to interact with and plan her logistics such as office and schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Clarity about Role and Expectations \u2013 Katrina wanted to review her job description, make notes on anything that was unclear to plan to learn more, and get the specifics on expectations.<\/li>\n<li>Designing Impact \u2013 once she knew the expectations, Katrina wanted to figure out how to meet and exceed them.
