{"id":7840,"date":"2018-03-26T09:03:13","date_gmt":"2018-03-26T09:03:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/?p=7840"},"modified":"2022-09-20T18:00:49","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T18:00:49","slug":"coaching-models-and-processes-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/coaching-models-and-processes-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Coaching Models and Processes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Coaching is advanced development for advanced results.\u00a0 Coaching empowers individuals to discover their possibilities, set goals, and create success.<\/p>\n<p>This blog series is from my chapter in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/resources\/recommended-reading\/coaching-perspectives-series-by-the-center-for-coaching-certification-and-more.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coaching Perspectives VII<\/a>.\u00a0 The purpose is to create awareness of different coaching models and processes, plus how coaching works.\u00a0 The Core Competencies of a Coach from the <a href=\"https:\/\/coachingfederation.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Coaching Federation<\/a>, ICF, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Center for Coaching Certification<\/a>, CCC, coaching model and process built on these competencies is included for a deeper perspective.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7785 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Book-VII_cover-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"68\" height=\"103\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Book-VII_cover-1.jpg 68w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Book-VII_cover-1-40x60.jpg 40w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 68px) 100vw, 68px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>First, a few definitions for clarity:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Whether Executive, Career,\u00a0Business, Wellness, Life, or Academic,\u00a0coaching is defined by the ICF as \u201ca strategic partnership in which the coach empowers the coachee to clarify goals, create action plans, move past obstacles, and achieve what the coachee chooses.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coach-123.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coaching<\/a> Model is an illustration of the relationship.<\/li>\n<li>A Coaching Process is the flow of the coaching relationship and the order in which tools or assessments are used.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are a multitude of examples of coaching models and coaching processes.\u00a0 In many ways, the reason for so many options is as simple as copyright, because each belongs to the person who created it.\u00a0 At the same time, different models and processes resonate for different people.<\/p>\n<p>Since coaching is all about the coachee, the most effective coaches are familiar and comfortable with multiple models and processes.\u00a0 In this way, the coaching relationship is readily adjusted to what is most helpful and effective for the coachee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Coaching is advanced development for advanced results.\u00a0 Coaching empowers individuals to discover their possibilities, set goals, and create success.
