{"id":7770,"date":"2018-01-11T11:00:36","date_gmt":"2018-01-11T11:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/?p=7770"},"modified":"2022-11-09T19:18:23","modified_gmt":"2022-11-09T19:18:23","slug":"coaching-leaders-to-make-connections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/coaching-leaders-to-make-connections\/","title":{"rendered":"Coaching Leaders to Make Connections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Janet Melancon<\/p>\n<p>How many times have we failed to maximize opportunities to lead, motivate, and inspire those we are responsible for managing?\u00a0 We can easily find ourselves in a situation where our intentions and actions are either misunderstood or misinterpreted simply because inadequate interpersonal connections undermine our ability to effectively communicate.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-7082 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/coaching-is-a-top-personal-competency-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/coaching-is-a-top-personal-competency-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/coaching-is-a-top-personal-competency-144x144.jpg 144w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coaching<\/a> is a very effective management tool that supports both communication and connection when used properly.\u00a0 The old adage, \u201cpractice makes perfect,\u201d sounds good and it is at best a half truth.\u00a0 Practice with direction and purpose helps us be productive.\u00a0 It is perfect practice that makes progress.\u00a0 The same principle applies to coaching.\u00a0 Effective and focused coaching will create the crucial connections that are essential to employee relations.<\/p>\n<p>For effective leadership, connections are vitally important.\u00a0 They make a significant difference in helping employees feel a part of the organization and a part of the department where they work.\u00a0 A leader\u2019s strengths and weaknesses are on full display with every interaction, so it is important to make conversations count.\u00a0 Coaching can be a significant way for clients to explore, reflect, brainstorm, create plans of action, and practice their skills as they come to new realizations.\u00a0 Coaching helps clients form new habits, achieve strong connections with employees for increased leadership effectiveness, and ultimately gain greater results in their organizations.<\/p>\n<p>In my chapter of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/resources\/recommended-reading\/coaching-perspectives-series-by-the-center-for-coaching-certification-and-more.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coaching Perspectives<\/a> VII, I identify fundamental strategies to make crucial connections that will foster better workplace relationships and enhance personal development through coaching.\u00a0 I will also include some of my real life coaching experiences and examples.\u00a0 Working on these areas will help your clients connect with their employees, achieve greater leadership satisfaction, and ultimately become more effective in their leadership role.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Janet Melancon How many times have we failed to maximize opportunities to lead, motivate, and inspire those we are responsible for managing?\u00a0 We can &hellip;
