{"id":7557,"date":"2017-06-05T09:05:09","date_gmt":"2017-06-05T09:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/?p=7557"},"modified":"2022-09-20T20:23:13","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T20:23:13","slug":"additional-secrets-to-creating-change-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/additional-secrets-to-creating-change-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Additional Secrets to Creating Change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Beth Donovan &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/bethdonovan.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/bethdonovan.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Reflect for a moment: how are you benefitting from this blog series with secrets to change?\u00a0 What do you want to do to gain even more from the insights?<\/p>\n<p>Excellent \u2013 and now here are additional secrets to create change:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Be selective.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Be intentional about what you put on your plate.\u00a0 Use a smaller plate and make the presentation attractive.\u00a0 Choose to eat what you most enjoy first, and leave what you least enjoy on the plate. \u00a0(Remember, eating the right amount is a change and the message that you had enough takes 20 to 30 minutes to reach your brain.)<\/p>\n<p>This is also a brilliant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/coaching-for-time-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">time management<\/a> technique, being selective.\u00a0 Choose what tasks or opportunities are most important to you first, and then consider the other options.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Visualize your defeats as aspirations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The best way to do this is to think in terms of what you CAN do and just ignore what you can&#8217;t do. \u00a0Get creative and think outside of the box. \u00a0In fact, burn the box.\u00a0 If you perceive yourself as defeated, instead call it an aspiration and work toward conquering that goal.<\/p>\n<p>If you ate something outside of your plan, then accept yourself as normal and then visualize yourself choosing the right food next time.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Life is happening now.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Waiting to enjoy life until you have accomplished some feat, such as reaching a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inc.com\/jeff-haden\/lose-weight-gain-energy-the-high-performance-ketogenic-diet-for-busy-executives.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">weight<\/a> goal, wastes a lot of life.\u00a0 The very act of living your life will help you release weight.\u00a0 Really live and do what you can.\u00a0 Enjoy everything that is in your power to enjoy.\u00a0 What if \u201cthinner\u201d is far in the future?\u00a0 I asked myself how much I was willing to miss one day.\u00a0 I decided then that life was happening now.\u00a0 As I began to embrace life more fully, my life started changing and so did my weight.<\/p>\n<p>Having a Wellness Coach to support you as you move forward with your life will greatly enhance your results!
