Ability to hold attention on what is important for the client, and to leave responsibility with the client to take action<\/p>\n<p>This means that coaching certification will include both information on accountability and an opportunity to practice asking questions for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindtools.com\/pages\/article\/newLDR_89.htm\" target=\"_blank\">accountability<\/a>.\u00a0 Examples include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How do you prefer to manage accountability?<\/li>\n<li>How do you want me to serve as your accountability partner?<\/li>\n<li>What has been happening for you since we last spoke?<\/li>\n<li>How are you doing with your action steps?<\/li>\n<li>What has gone well?<\/li>\n<li>What do you want to do differently?<\/li>\n<li>What held you back?<\/li>\n<li>What helped?<\/li>\n<li>How will you move forward now?<\/li>\n<li>What happens if you don\u2019t follow through?<\/li>\n<li>What happens if you do?<\/li>\n<li>How will you stay on track?<\/li>\n<li>What motivates you to follow-through?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Coaches are accountability partners.\u00a0 Coaches help clients define goals and plan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.CoachCert.com\/coachingblog\/how-important-are-action-steps\/\" target=\"_blank\">action steps<\/a>, and then coaches check-in with their clients for follow-through.<\/p>\n<p>What are your ideas for managing accountability?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When setting goals and planning action steps it often helps to have an accountability partner.\u00a0 Having an accountability partner means you committed to someone else.\u00a0 &hellip;
