Consider how language impacts you personally.\u00a0 Test it by thinking about something you want to accomplish.\u00a0 Say to yourself, \u201cI wish I was able to do it.\u201d\u00a0 How does that feel?\u00a0 Now say to yourself, \u201cI am moving forward and doing it.\u201d\u00a0 How is that different?<\/p>\n

While the research behind language and positivity is extensive, it is mentioned only briefly here to invite your further exploration.\u00a0 This chapter is a story highlighting the personal and coaching perspective of language.<\/p>\n

Positive language<\/a> creates positive thinking which creates positive feelings that lead to positive actions which create positive outcomes that build confidence which supports positivity.\u00a0 Whew!\u00a0 Using positive language for exploring and acting on thoughts, feelings, and behavior is the foundation for maximizing success.\u00a0 A high level of positivity enhances brain capacity and function, and impacts confidence.<\/p>\n

Language used to express thoughts and beliefs creates self-fulfilling prophecies<\/a>.\u00a0 Reframing challenging or negative experiences with positive, proactive language supports positivity and confidence.\u00a0 Talking about wins and good experiences also supports confidence and creates positivity, plus builds momentum.\u00a0 Positivity and confidence enhance individual ability to face challenge and change.\u00a0 Positivity through language enhances skills including decision making, proactivity, and emotional intelligence.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
