Great Leaders Help Teams Rally Around A Greater Mission<\/p>\n

The\u00a0seventh\u00a0way great leaders stand out is they\u00a0help their teams rally around a greater mission. It’s more important to employees now, than it ever has been, to feel a sense of mission in their work. They want to know their daily work has meaning. This increases their sense of connection\u00a0to the company, increases engagement, and reduces attrition.<\/p>\n

Sometimes it can be hard to see a connection between the details of a project\u00a0and how we are impacting the world in a positive way.<\/p>\n

A great leader\u00a0communicates this connection and inspires the team by helping them see the impact the organization is having on people’s lives. This leader shares stories about this impact to inspire and motivate his\/her team.<\/p>\n

In addition, great leaders provide an opportunity for\u00a0their teams to participate in charitable events rela\"Greatted to their business.<\/p>\n

A healthcare company participated in Sprint Across America and donated the proceeds to\u00a0charities chosen by the participating employees. An energy\u00a0company makes sizable monetary and participatory donations\u00a0as they support\u00a0Junior Achievement to\u00a0inspire students to dream big and reach their potential. A food company can support hunger. A high tech or bio\u00a0company can mentor inner city\u00a0students interested in going into a STEM discipline.<\/p>\n

This week, let’s communicate\u00a0inspiring stories\u00a0about how our work helps real people. Let’s also find a way to help our employees rally around a related cause to\u00a0make a difference.<\/p>\n
