The third topic in our Leading With Heart\u00a0series is: Help others succeed. One mark of a truly great leader\u00a0is their desire to help those around them succeed.<\/p>\n
Being confident and sure of themselves, and thus more open to others, they have real concern and caring for helping their peers and employees.<\/p>\n
They offer to help out,\u00a0do whatever there is to be done, and they give credit where it’s due\u2014whether\u00a0to their peers or staff members.<\/p>\n
They are the leaders who know their own strengths and weaknesses and look beyond themselves to\u00a0help their employees grow. They help their team members identify what they enjoy doing the\u00a0most and areas\/roles for which they are\u00a0best suited. These leaders\u00a0help employees identify opportunities to develop additional skills and get more exposure to senior management.<\/p>\n
They help employees identify potential\u00a0career opportunities and give them work to help them move in that direction.<\/p>\n
These actions help the leader out too.\u00a0He\/she is viewed as a successful developer of talent and\u00a0someone who can be counted on to\u00a0help when needed\u2014a real asset to the organization.<\/p>\n
Let’s ask ourselves this week, how can we help those around us succeed?<\/p>\n
