{"id":5405,"date":"2014-12-26T06:03:12","date_gmt":"2014-12-26T06:03:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/centerforcoachingcertification.com\/coachingblog\/?p=5405"},"modified":"2022-09-14T18:48:42","modified_gmt":"2022-09-14T18:48:42","slug":"confidentiality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/confidentiality\/","title":{"rendered":"Confidentiality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.CoachCert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ph131997_w.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5406\" src=\"https:\/\/www.CoachCert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ph131997_w.jpg\" alt=\"Confidentiality \" width=\"178\" height=\"178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ph131997_w.jpg 178w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ph131997_w-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ph131997_w-60x60.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 178px) 100vw, 178px\" \/><\/a>Coaching confidentiality is owed to the client &#8211; which is different than to the company or sponsor of the coaching.\u00a0 The <a href=\"https:\/\/coachingfederation.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICF<\/a> provides these definitions in the Code of Ethics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Client:<\/strong> \u00a0The &#8220;client&#8221; is the person(s) being coached.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sponsor:<\/strong> The &#8220;sponsor&#8221; is the entity (including its representatives) paying for and\/or arranging for coaching services to be provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then in addressing confidentiality, the <a href=\"https:\/\/coachingfederation.org\/ethics\/code-of-ethics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICF Code of Ethics<\/a> states: <em>\u201cI will maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality with all client and sponsor information.
