list of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/coachingfederation.org\/credentials-and-standards\/core-competencies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Core Competencies<\/a> they explain in detail.\u00a0 Additionally they provide a Comparison Table that defines how coaching competencies are evaluated in their credentialing process.\u00a0 These documents provide excellent insight for setting goals and measuring your effectiveness as a coach.\u00a0 Define your goals and then consider your obstacles.<\/p>\n<p>Goals: What level of effectiveness do you want with the competencies?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Evaluate current level of competency for each of the core competencies and then determine the next level as a goal<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Achieve credentialing<\/a> as an ACC, PCC, or MCC<\/li>\n<li>Skillful application of the competencies at the highest level per the Comparison Table<\/li>\n<li>A consistently increasing measure of client ROI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Obstacles: What holds you back from effective application of coaching competencies?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paradigm Shift \u2013 applying skills as a coach is very different than applying the same skills in other roles<\/li>\n<li>Different Competencies \u2013 some of the competencies are different and new<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.management-issues.com\/news\/5458\/new-job-same-old-bad-habits\/\">Habits with Existing Skills<\/a> \u2013 because of a high level of education and experience with existing skills it is a challenge to change the habits when coaching<\/li>\n<li>Awareness of Different Application \u2013 sometimes it is challenging to know when the application is on or off track<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Options for Moving Forward: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mindtools.com\/pages\/article\/being-effective.htm\">How will you move past your obstacles<\/a>?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be intentionally open and consciously competent with skill application<\/li>\n<li>Reflect on how it is different plus the reasons for it being different<\/li>\n<li>Focus on one skill area at a time<\/li>\n<li>Practice with colleagues<\/li>\n<li>Practice with a mentor coach or a trainer coach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you effectively build your coaching competencies and commit to continuing to enhance your skills, the rewards include the positive results of your work, the referrals, increased opportunities, and a growing coaching
