{"id":5134,"date":"2014-07-18T06:03:10","date_gmt":"2014-07-18T06:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/centerforcoachingcertification.com\/coachingblog\/?p=5134"},"modified":"2023-05-22T18:28:53","modified_gmt":"2023-05-22T18:28:53","slug":"put-a-price-on-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/put-a-price-on-it\/","title":{"rendered":"Put a Price on It"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.CoachCert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/bs.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5135\" src=\"https:\/\/www.CoachCert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/bs-168x300.jpg\" alt=\"Put a Price on It \" width=\"168\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Professionals are often afraid to ask for the price that is clearly appropriate for the service provided or the work done.\u00a0 It happens with salary negotiations during times of reorganization, salary negotiation, performance reviews, and compensation raises.\u00a0 It also happens with independent business owners offering services.\u00a0 While small businesses that sell consumable commodities like food or hardware may find it easier to price their inventory, professionals like consultants or coaches discuss the challenge of putting a price on their expertise and its consequent benefits.\u00a0 This challenge is even more pronounced when the professional is new to the coaching arena.\u00a0 Fortunately, there are two simple and obvious checkpoints to move past this very common occurrence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>First:<\/strong>\u00a0 Know Your Worth<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Get yourself formally trained and credentialed.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Write out your experience that supports your work as a coach.<\/li>\n<li>Surround yourself with other professionals of your trade.<\/li>\n<li>Practice your craft at every opportunity so that it becomes second nature.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training\/cce-programs\/continuing-coach-education-schedule.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Participate extensively in continuing education.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Get involved in discussions through social media and professional memberships.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Do it all until the coach\u2019s hat fits like a glove.\u00a0 Remember, own it so that you can sell it.\u00a0 By taking the steps and owning your process, you will know your worth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second:<\/strong>\u00a0 Command Your Worth<\/p>\n<p>Now that you <em>know <\/em>you are good at what you do, be confident in asking your price.\u00a0 Consumers often believe they get what they pay for so <a href=\"http:\/\/smallbusiness.costhelper.com\/life-coach.html\">do research the market<\/a> and price your services accordingly.\u00a0 (Think of the message you convey if your fees are too low.)<\/p>\n<p>Arm yourself with the certainty that comes from knowing your profession inside and out.\u00a0 Give it a price tag worthy of its value.
