{"id":5033,"date":"2014-05-07T06:03:26","date_gmt":"2014-05-07T06:03:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/centerforcoachingcertification.com\/coachingblog\/?p=5033"},"modified":"2022-09-13T19:58:27","modified_gmt":"2022-09-13T19:58:27","slug":"coaching-model","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/coaching-model\/","title":{"rendered":"Coaching Model"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One thing that is interesting in reference to a coaching model is defining a model as compared to process.\u00a0 Dictionary.com includes \u201ca standard or example for imitation or comparison\u201d in the definition.\u00a0 A search on process turns up \u201ca series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end\u201d in a definition.<\/p>\n<p>For the purposes of coaching, a model is the standard or example of how the coaching relationship works.\u00a0 A process is the series of steps used in order to move the coachee forward.<\/p>\n<p>Imagine the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coaching process<\/a> as a staircase leading to a doorway called \u2018success.\u2019\u00a0 The coachee defines success; the coach upholds the foundation of the staircase.\u00a0 The coach walks with the coachee up the staircase.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 The Stairway to Success requires a foundation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">1. Training<br \/>\n2. Competency<br \/>\n3.
