External Coach Training<\/a> \"External<\/a>How important is training?\u00a0 As with any type of skilled work or service, training is essential.\u00a0 Coaching is a very specific process and is often misunderstood.\u00a0 Some think coaching is part training, part mentoring, part managing and in reality it is very different.<\/p>\n

The American Management Association<\/a>, in their Global Study of Successful Practices, shared several major findings on coaching programs inside companies, including one on training for the coaches<\/a>: \"AMA<\/a>Internal training programs are often based on common misunderstandings of coaching instead of being built on ICF\u2019s 11 Core Competencies of a coach.\"AMA<\/a><\/p>\n

Specifically, the AMA recommend external training for internal coaches to achieve the best results.\"AMA<\/a><\/p>\n

What type of training for coaches is best?<\/p>\n
