{"id":4809,"date":"2013-12-30T06:03:18","date_gmt":"2013-12-30T06:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/centerforcoachingcertification.com\/coachingblog\/?p=4809"},"modified":"2023-01-13T19:52:53","modified_gmt":"2023-01-13T19:52:53","slug":"coaching-to-enhance-work-space","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/coaching-to-enhance-work-space\/","title":{"rendered":"Coaching to Enhance Work Space"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.CoachCert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/41.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-4810\" src=\"https:\/\/www.CoachCert.com\/coachingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/41-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Coaching to Enhance Work Space\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Maria told her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coach-123.com\/coaching-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coach<\/a> Susan that her next focus after organizing her house and closets was organizing her office.\u00a0 Susan asked Maria to describe her work flow.\u00a0 Susan asked how and when Maria used what she had in her office.\u00a0 By exploring this, Susan empowered Maria to reflect on how she wanted things organized.\u00a0 During the conversation, Susan and Maria co-created a diagram of the office and where Maria wanted furniture, files, and other items.\u00a0 Susan asked Maria to fully describe her ideal office organization.\u00a0 While describing it, Maria got excited about experiencing it so she was motivated to get it done.<\/p>\n<p>Susan then asked Maria to list her action steps for organizing her office.\u00a0 Maria decided to start by going through stacks of paper and either scanning things into her computer for storage there, putting them into files, or shredding them.\u00a0 She estimated four hours of work to complete all of it, and blocked time in her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/resources\/monthly-webinars.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">calendar<\/a>.\u00a0 Then she planned to re-arrange her furniture to suit her work flow and open up her space more.\u00a0 Maria planned two hours for this, and again put it in her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training\/certified-professional-coach\/certification-program-schedule.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">calendar.<\/a>\u00a0 As a final step, Maria gave herself an hour to go through the knick-knacks and choose what to keep and what to give away.<\/p>\n<p>Susan asked Maria how she wanted to celebrate her completion of the work and Maria said she was going to buy herself a nice picture for the wall her desk faced in her office.\u00a0 Susan asked Maria what picture she imagined looking at on her wall.\u00a0 Maria talked about a couple of different pictures, and by visualizing the possibilities decided she preferred a city scene instead of a beach scene.<\/p>\n<p>Maria completed her actions over several weeks and bought herself the picture.\u00a0 In their next <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/resources\/faqs\/is-coaching-right-for-me-take-the-quiz.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coaching<\/a> session, Susan congratulated Maria for her success.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maria told her coach Susan that her next focus after organizing her house and closets was organizing her office.\u00a0 Susan asked Maria to describe her &hellip;
