satisfaction.\u00a0 In the process, the hospital did surveys asking patients to evaluate their care and the service.\u00a0 As a result, the administration chose to focus on improving the interactions between the doctors and the patients.<\/p>\n<p>After researching a number of different training options, the administration chose to go with teaching the doctors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coaching skills<\/a> because it covered the range of skills necessary.\u00a0 Specifically, coach training developed competencies in these essential areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding and interacting effectively with different personalities<\/li>\n<li>Listening<\/li>\n<li>Clear, direct, respectful language that works<\/li>\n<li>Developing rapport<\/li>\n<li>Creating focus for changing habits impacting health<\/li>\n<li>Powerful questioning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Following the training program for the doctors, the hospital coordinated follow-up coaching for each of the doctors.<\/p>\n<p>While initially hesitant, the doctors rated the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/resources\/faqs\/is-coaching-right-for-me-take-the-quiz.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coach<\/a> training and the follow-up coaching highly.\u00a0 The patient surveys demonstrated that the impact was worth it \u2013 the patients expressed that they now felt heard and understood, they were comfortable talking with their doctors, and they felt their overall experience was better than expected.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of training their doctors on coaching skills and tracking the impact on patients, the hospital expanded the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coach training<\/a> to include their management staff and all medical staff that worked with
