Of course the process described in the previous blog post is very effective, and the process here works for clients and for us as coaches.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Neuro-Linguistic Programming describes six foundational areas for creating change. If your coaching client wants to change a habit of procrastination, consider asking questions around each area.<\/p>\n<p>Environment<\/p>\n<p>1. What is your most productive space?<br \/>\n2. What time of day are you most productive?<br \/>\n3. How will you plan your space and time so that you accomplish what you want?<\/p>\n<p>Behavior<\/p>\n<p>1. Do your behaviors fit with how you want to be?<br \/>\n2. Do your behaviors serve your goals?<\/p>\n<p>Capabilities and Skills<\/p>\n<p>1. What counter-productive skills do you have and how did you acquire them?<br \/>\n2. What skills would serve you?<\/p>\n<p>Beliefs and values<br \/>\n1. What is the difference between your beliefs or values and how you live?<br \/>\n2. How will you close the gap?<\/p>\n<p>Identity<br \/>\n1. How do you describe yourself?<br \/>\n2. How would you like to be described?<\/p>\n<p>Purpose<\/p>\n<p>1. What contributions would you like to make?<br \/>\n2. What is your purpose?<\/p>\n<p>Combine this with the process described in the previous blog for a powerful coaching focus to create the desired change.<\/p>\n<p>The key is to have the coaching client decide what they do want, know their internal motivators, and proactively plan their process to create the change they choose.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How do you effectively coach a client who is procrastinating?
