{"id":3320,"date":"2012-03-30T06:03:56","date_gmt":"2012-03-30T06:03:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/centerforcoachingcertification.com\/coachingblog\/?p=3320"},"modified":"2022-09-18T19:39:31","modified_gmt":"2022-09-18T19:39:31","slug":"analyze-barriers-to-goals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/coachingblog\/analyze-barriers-to-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"Analyze Barriers to Goals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The A in GOALS = Analyzed<\/p>\n<p>Powerful goal setting for results means recognizing that challenges exist and will arise.\u00a0 One thing a business, life, or executive coach does is list the challenges before listing action steps.\u00a0 Whether with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.findacertifiedcoach.com\/\">coach<\/a> or on your own now, as you consider your goals (developed through earlier posts in this blog series) answer this question: What are the potential barriers?<\/p>\n<p>Through coaching hundreds of individuals over the years, I find some responses come up frequently and are true for many people.\u00a0 What is interesting is that often the very first answer to this question is: me.\u00a0 This does make sense \u2013 we all have tendencies that hold us back such as procrastination, taking on too much, lacking confidence, being easily distracted, or creating resistance.\u00a0 Beyond that common barriers include time, money, and knowledge.\u00a0 Continue asking this question: What are the potential barriers?\u00a0 Then ask: What else?\u00a0 Dig, dig, and dig on this question.\u00a0 By getting all of the potential barriers listed, you are empowered to face each one and plan how to move past it.<\/p>\n<p>Of course after implementing a plan of action, unforeseen barriers may arise and so it is important to come back to the process of listing the barriers and then, with each barrier foreseen or unforeseen, ask the next question: How will you move past it?<\/p>\n<p>When working with a coach, initially moving past each barrier is explored, and then moving past barriers is shifted to the whole approach of the action planning.\u00a0 Consider the benefit of this approach with a coach or here now \u2013 in the short term it means being prepared and in the long term it means focusing on planning and following through.<\/p>\n<p>Follow this blog now \u2013 the next post is incredibly significant in powerful goals setting for results.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The A in GOALS = Analyzed Powerful goal setting for results means recognizing that challenges exist and will arise.\u00a0 One thing a business, life, or &hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[40],"tags":[104,91,48,85,50,81,88,51,89,102,84,103],"class_list":["post-3320","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-tools-and-techniques","tag-analyze","tag-business-coach","tag-coach","tag-coach-training","tag-coaching","tag-coaching-success","tag-effective-coaching","tag-excellence","tag-executive-coach","tag-goal-setting","tag-goals","tag-opportunities","latest_post"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 4.9.9 - aioseo.com -->\n\t<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Powerful goal setting for results means recognizing that challenges exist and will arise.
