Declercq<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">References<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Section 4: Appendices<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Appendix 1: Useful Links<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Appendix 2: Minimum Skills Requirements for ACC Credential<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Appendix 3: ICF PCC Markers<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Appendix 4: Minimum Skills Requirements for MCC Credential<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Appendix 5: ICF Code of Ethics<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The Good:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The list of authors of this book reads like a \u201cWho\u2019s Who\u201d of coaching.\u00a0 The wisdom of the various contributors is clear, and much will be learned when reading this book.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The structure of Section 2 in the book affords good flow and an easy way to go back and review sections.\u00a0 Specifically, each competency is explored, then discussion and examples are provided for the ACC Bars, the PCC Markers, the MCC Bars, and then for the Growing MCC coach.\u00a0 The benefits of the competencies for the client and the coach are explained.\u00a0 This is a very practical section for support success in earning a credential.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Section 3 consists of chapters that can be read individually and reflected on.\u00a0 Each provides great wisdom from an expert.\u00a0 There is magic in these quick-read chapters.\u00a0 This is where you go beyond the pragmatic science of coaching into the art of coaching.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The Bad:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In one of the case studies under the competency of Demonstrates Ethical Practice, it indicates the coach offered guidance without explaining that offering guidance is mentoring or consulting.\u00a0 This conflicts with what is written in the section for Embodies a <a href=\"https:\/\/coach-123.com\/coaching-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coaching<\/a> Mindset.\u00a0 In service to new and growing coaches, it is important to be clear that coaching is not about offering guidance; it is about providing the space for clients to guide themselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The explanation of <a href=\"https:\/\/coachingfederation.org\/credentials-and-standards\/performance-evaluations\/pcc-markers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PCC Marker<\/a> 3.4 lacks clarity \u2013 inviting the client to create their list of topics or agenda for the conversation helps ensure the conversation is led by the client.\u00a0 The examples provided are more appropriate for 5.3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of the self-reflective questions are closed and leading.\u00a0 Read these questions as a recommendation and then use open questions to explore and self-reflect further.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The use of passive or limiting language is surprising, as are the examples where the coach makes it about themselves instead of keeping it about the client.\u00a0 When you read this book, reflect on the possible impact of how the coach says it on their client.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Conclusion:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Absolutely recommend this book for those in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachcert.com\/training.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coach training<\/a> and\/or on the journey to becoming a coach and earning a coaching credential.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whether you are new to coaching and have just completed the foundational part of your coach training or are an MCC coach, you will find new insights and ideas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find the Book at Amazon.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Becoming-ICF-Credentialed-Coach-Assessors\/dp\/1911451324\/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3BZVHLDSNW6AO&amp;dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.nw1PpAF4f1Q9qguQe38V7B9cZ6FdFgQVV7rGT5MpTF4.OBBe-hCevVui4sWotm1PJiK8NZ-PO1q_lGxYkSLMPMQ&amp;dib_tag=se&amp;keywords=Becoming+an+ICF+Credentialed+Coach&amp;qid=1727712328&amp;sprefix=becoming+an+icf+credentialed+coach%2Caps%2C127&amp;sr=8-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click Here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Book Review of Becoming an ICF Credentialed Coach by Jonathan Passmore and Judit \u00c1bri von Bartheld Summary &#8211;
