As in any profession, opportunity is based on the possibilities you create through hard work, networking, and results.\u00a0 With that being said, the number of jobs that request or require coaching skills is growing because coaching is a leadership competency.\u00a0 Additionally, a growing number of organizations employ coaches for their team members.<\/p>\n

Additionally, coaching is a business opportunity.\u00a0 Some professionals, such as consultants or trainers, offer coaching as an additional service.\u00a0 Many provide coaching through a part-time or full-time business.\u00a0 Success with coaching in your business will be based on your planning, budgeting, marketing, networking, managing, and follow-through. \u00a0The Center for Coaching Certification offers graduates support for building their coaching business through the web-based searchable directory of coaches www.FindaCertifiedCoach.com<\/a>, the coaching firm www.Coach-123.com<\/a>, the assessment dashboard<\/a> for giving assessments at wholesale, the opportunities to get published, guest blog, be a podcast guest, guest present, social media, an online discussion group, plus with continuing education webinars and monthly calls offering marketing insights and business tips.<\/p>\n

Being a coach starts with training<\/a>.\u00a0 At the Center for Coaching Certification the tools and techniques to coach clients effectively are provided in your coaching certification program. \u00a0Additionally, resources for business planning and marketing are provided to all graduates.<\/p>\n

In addition to coach training, the gold standard for being a coach is membership and a credential with the International Coaching Federation, ICF.\u00a0 Information is available on their site at http:\/\/www.coachingfederation.org<\/a>\u00a0 Currently the ICF requires 60 hours of training that meets their criteria to become a member plus all members agree to be accountable to the Code of Ethics.<\/p>\n

An analogy for understanding membership and credentialing: Membership in the ICF is much like saying you have an associate’s degree, earning the ACC credential is much like saying you have a degree, the PCC is like a master\u2019s degree, and the MCC is like a doctorate.
