In the previous blog we outlined the steps for becoming a coach.\u00a0 Now let\u2019s explore how a coach starts a coaching business<\/a>.\u00a0 Once again there are 5 Steps: \"5<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vision and Mission \u2013 the vision and the mission of a business provide the direction and focus plus serve as a tool for decision-making.
\na.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reason \u2013 a vision statement describes the desired outcome that results from the work of the business.
\nb.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Purpose \u2013 a mission statement describes the purpose of the business in terms of the work.
\n2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Business Plan \u2013 a formal plan that includes information on the business as well as the management, budget, and goals.
\na.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Administration \u2013 the portion of the business plan that outlines the structure, management team, advisors, and ongoing oversight of the business.
\nb.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Budget \u2013 the budget will include the upfront start-up costs and then show expenses as they occur plus income when anticipated for expected cash flow.
\nc.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Goals \u2013 the portion of the plan that lists the specific, measurable goals of the business.
\n3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Marketing Plan \u2013 part of a Business Plan and because it often involves a complete area of work, the Marketing Plan is often also a stand-alone document.
\na.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Website \u2013 this includes addressing the budget, timeline, objectives, design, and intended use as a marketing tool of the website for the business.
\nb.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Social Media \u2013 a listing of which platforms will be used, the reason for the selection, the focus of the messaging, the goals for impact, and the schedule for posts.
\nc.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Networking \u2013 goals in terms of events or online platforms for networking, reaching out to contacts, and defined messaging.
\nd.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Speaking \u2013 goals for the number and type of speaking engagements plus the plan for converting leads.
\n4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Passion \u2013 this is the foundation of the commitment and energy for the work and supports results when marketing.
\na.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Love the Work \u2013 identifying the reasons for doing the work as well as what you love about it informs your dedication and focus.
\nb.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Express the Passion \u2013 showing and sharing your passion creates buy-in for prospective clients.
\n5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Commitment \u2013 starting a business takes time, energy, and money.\u00a0 It may also (usually) involve time, energy, and money from stakeholders.
\na.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Action Plans \u2013 list the steps that will be taken, how they will happen, and by when.
\nb.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Follow-through \u2013 define how you will ensure accountability.<\/p>\n
